Description/Analysis
IssueDetail
Issue Detail: The Sacramento Community Police Review Commission (the "Commission") was established in November of 2016 with the purpose of providing participation in reviewing and recommending police policies, practices, and procedures; and monitoring the implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of city policing initiates and programs. (Sacramento City Code section 2.110.020)
The Commission received and evaluated the Sacramento Police Department's responses to its 2018 and 2019 recommendations in 2023. According to the Commission's 2024 Annual Report, there are recommendations from 2021-2023 that have not received a response from the Department. Appendix A of the Annual Report lists the recommendations from previous years.
The purpose of this item is to discuss the backlog of recommendations and strategies to move them forward.
The Department's participation in this item is imperative.
