Description/Analysis
IssueDetail
Issue Detail: The Department of Public Works, Fleet Management Division, provides ongoing maintenance and repair services for the City's Fire fleet. Due to the specialized nature of fire apparatus, including pumps, aerial ladders, and complex electrical and hydraulic systems, these vehicles require service providers with specific training, certifications, and proper facilities that meet regulatory requirements.

On February 3, 2022, Fleet Management issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Fire Apparatus Maintenance and Repairs. Four contracts were awarded, including two with Riverview International Truck and Valley Power Systems North, Inc. Additional contract authority is now needed to ensure continuation of required services through the end of the contract term on May 2, 2027.
