Description/Analysis

IssueDetail

Issue Detail: The Sacramento Community Police Review Commission meets publicly at least 10 times a year with meetings usually ranging from one to three hours. While these meetings are staffed by the City Clerk’s office, the Commission lacks formal day-to-day staffing. As such, it is up to the Commissioners to prioritize the policy items that will guide the work for each year.

As the Commission continues it’s efforts to organize itself and identify the areas of concern that the Commission will address for the 2024 year calendar year, the Chair will agendize a standing agenda item at the end of each meeting for Commissioners to request or make recommendations for topics of discussion for the following month’s meeting based on the course of discussion in this meeting.

Like other City commissions and committees, the Sacramento Community Police Review Commission maintains, as a standing item, a follow-up log to organize and track items that may be considered for future meeting agendas. The follow-up log details each item, the relevant workplan issue, and gives an estimate of when staff expects to bring the item back to the Commission. Commission members are welcome to add items to the log during each meeting.
