Description/Analysis
IssueDetail
Issue Detail: Each year, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approves its annual allocation of transient occupancy tax (TOT) collections. The County uses a portion of its TOT to fund joint operations shared with the City, including SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity (MOSAC). This year’s funding will be for the purpose of operating MOSAC to develop and perform educational programming throughout the year and for the use towards bond repayment.
In June 2025, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved TOT allocations for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 to MOSAC. The total County allocation for this organization is $344,000. The County’s allocation will be administered by the City.
