Additional Description/Analysis

IssueDetail

Issue Detail: The Sacramento County Grand Jury 2025-2026 Report included an investigative report addressing their assessments of whether the City provides adequate resources and support to the Sacramento Community Police Review Commission for that body to meet its obligations and bring about change for the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento community at large. That report is attached to this staff report as Attachment 2. The Grand Jury report makes various recommendations to the City proposing steps that are intended to enhance the community’s access to the Commission, the Commission’s resources and training, and the Commission’s access to the City Council in providing recommended courses of action. The Grand Jury required a response from the City of Sacramento, and a proposed response is appended to this report as Attachment 3.
