Background

Background: The DAC’s annual report was approved by the City Council on March 12, 2024, and included the following recommendation:

“Establish a reasonable and equitable ADA drop-off and pick-up location for the Golden 1 Center with appropriate wayfinding and assign resources to monitor and enforce this location.”

The current location directs individuals towards a dead-end roadway, lacks proper signage for the ADA designated drop-off area, and experiences inconsistent enforcement. An immediate, enhanced temporary solution is necessary while the City and its partners revise the current Traffic Management Plan.

Subsequently, DAC members convened with City staff and representatives of the Golden 1 Center to deliberate on the current and prospective drop-off locations. This agenda item is designated for Commissioners to provide a report to the entire Commission on the discussions held.
