Background

Background: Jessie Avenue was initially dedicated as Knight Avenue with the plat of “Young’s Heights” in 1912 as filed in Book 13 of Page 14 with the Sacramento County Office of the Recorder. The portion of the public road easement sits at the most east end of Jessie Avenue just north of the west bound lanes of the I-80 freeway. This portion of Jessie Avenue is a dead-end road and only provides public access to the property located at 1541 Jessie Avenue. The applicant is required to relocate some existing utility facilities and reserve a public utility easement and are conditions of this vacation request. All affected city departments and utility agencies have reviewed and support this request to vacate the portion of the public road easement detailed in this report.
