Issue Detail: The Tim Haley Award is presented by the Sacramento Disabilities Advisory Commission (Commission) to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to Sacramento's disability community.
To be eligible for the award, nominees must reside in the City of Sacramento and must not have previously received the Tim Haley Award. City employees and contractors are also eligible if the Commission determines that their contributions to the disability community have exceeded the duties and responsibilities of their employment or contract.
Commissioners will nominate and discuss potential candidates at this meeting. Nominees who meet the award criteria may be brought forward for formal consideration and approval at a future Commission meeting.

RationaleforRecommendation
Rationale for Recommendation: The Tim Haley Award provides the Commission an opportunity to recognize individuals whose contributions have meaningfully supported and advanced Sacramento's disability community.
At this meeting, Commissioners will nominate and discuss potential candidates and determine whether the nominees meet the established award criteria. Eligible nominations will be brought forward for formal consideration and approval at the Commission's October meeting. Award recipients will be invited to attend the Commission's November meeting to be formally recognized.

Financial Considerations: There are no significant financial impacts associated with this action. Minor costs associated with preparation of ceremonial documents will be absorbed within the City Clerk's existing budget.
