IssueDetail
Issue Detail: Section 29 of the Sacramento City Charter requires the Compensation Commission (Commission) “to establish the compensation for the Mayor, members of the city council, and public members of city boards and commissions.” Stipends are provided to board and commission members to assist them with costs associated with transportation, child and/or elder care, and other related expenses incurred as a result of attendance at the scheduled meetings. Financial Considerations: The yearly cost estimate for an increase to the Committee stipend will be $6,750. This increase is not currently incorporated into the City’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25 Proposed Budget that is being proposed for Council adoption on June 11, 2024.
