Description/Analysis

IssueDetail

Issue Detail: North Natomas Jibe will be working with the North Natomas community to establish a name for an unnamed trail running parallel to and east of I-5, currently between Del Paso and San Juan. Jibe is requesting feedback from the Commission on the list of proposed names.

List of trail names for feedback:

                     Sandhill Crane Parkway

                     Snowy Egret Parkway

                     Burrowing Owl Parkway

                     Lark Sparrow Parkway

End

PolicyConsiderations

Policy Considerations:

Council Resolution 2008-112 established the Policy for Naming City Facilities, including bike trails. This effort is consistent with the guidelines, which states that parks and parkways should be named with input from the community and suggested consideration of native flora and fauna names as options, and with the procedures outlined in the policy.
