Issue Detail: The Two Rivers Trail Project Phase II Project is intended to provide a link between the Jedediah Smith Trail on the north side of the American River Parkway, the Sacramento River Parkway, the Sacramento Northern Bikeway Trail, the future Ueda Parkway trails, and the 20th Street bike connection to the Central City.

Environmental review for the project was completed February 2020, and all permitting requirements to start construction were met. The project was awarded $3,333,000 from the 2017 State Active Transportation Program for construction of the Project. On December 8, 2022, the California Transportation Commission (CTC) approved the allocation of $3,333,000 for construction of the Project.

On December 12, 2023, the City Council awarded the construction contract to Martin Brothers Construction (2023-1637) for an amount not-to-exceed $2,676,769. Martin Brothers Construction started work on January 8, 2024. In December o...
