Description/Analysis
IssueDetail
Issue Detail: The City is committed to policies that protect the dignity of residents, strengthen community trust, and promote public safety. Although the City does not control federal immigration enforcement, it can strengthen local preparedness and support communities most affected by those actions. Accordingly, the purpose of the Immigration Community Immigration Action Plan (Plan) is to prepare for and respond promptly, lawfully, and effectively, to federal immigration enforcement activities. The Plan requires the City to work in coordination with community-based organizations, immigrant advocates, service providers, labor, faith leaders, and other stakeholders.

PolicyConsiderations
Policy Considerations: Adoption of the Plan will enable the City to support the community in response to federal immigration enforcement in collaboration with immigration community leaders and cross-sector careholders, from community organizations, local government, politicians, labor, and faith-based leaders.
