PolicyConsiderations
Policy Considerations: The City Councilmember proposal request process is outlined in the City of Sacramento Council Rules and Procedures. The process dictates that a Council Proposal must be submitted in writing to the City Clerk. The proposal must include a summary and background, identify the applicable strategic plan/priority, estimate any budget adjustment or impact, and include additional information sufficient for committee deliberation. The Mayor, in consultation with the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk, shall review all requests and will assign each proposal to a committee based on committee jurisdiction.

Once a proposal is placed on the Council Proposals tracking log, the appropriate City staff is assigned.
