Description/Analysis
IssueDetail
Issue Detail: Per the City's administrative policy, ad hoc committees are to be dissolved within one year of creation with a summary report provided to the commission. At the May 1, 2025, Sacramento Children's Fund Planning and Oversight Commission (Commission) meeting, the Commission Chair created the Community Engagement Ad Hoc Committee (Committee) to work with staff to revise the Sacramento Children's Fund Community Engagement Plan. At the November 6, 2025, Commission meeting, the Commission reviewed and commented on the draft Community Engagement Plan.

The Community Engagement Ad Hoc Committee has met several times since its inception and made progress on planning and engagement. The Committee's work has reached a natural pause as planned community engagement events will not occur for several months. Since it has been one year since the creation of the Committee, it is appropriate to dissolve. The Commission may reconvene a similar ad hoc at another date and time with a more specific purpose.

PolicyConsiderations
Policy Considerations: Sacramento City Code section 2.40.160(A) states that city commissions may create temporary meeting bodies that are known as ad-hoc committees, and they are subject to the restrictions of both the Ralph M. Brown Act (Cal. Gov. Code ? 54952 (b).) and the City's administrative policy pertaining to ad-hoc committees.
