Pass a Motion: 1) awarding a five-year contract to Target Specialty Products for the purchase of chemicals and fertilizers in an amount not to exceed $500,000 for the five-year term; and 2) authorizing the City Manager or City Manager's designee to execute the contract specified above.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The City has a need for specific materials related to the maintenance of parks and open spaces. Staff recommends awarding a contract to the responsive bidder, Target Specialty Products, which is the City's current provider. Target Specialty Products has provided supplies for parks and golf courses for over a decade and was crucial for providing pesticide for Dutch Elm disease.

Policy Considerations: The recommendations in this report are in accordance with City Code Section 3.56, regarding purchase of supplies and services

Economic Impacts: None

Environmental Considerations:

California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA): The report concerns the ongoing purchase of supplies which does not constitute a "project" pursuant to Section 15378(b)(2) of the CEQA Guidelines.

Sustainability: The recommended contract is consistent with the Sustainable Purchasing Policy (AP-4003).

Commission/Committee Action: None

Rationale for Recommendation: In October 2018, the Procurement Service Division issued an Invitation for Bids (Bid no.
