Pass a Motion: 1) authorizing the City Manager or the City Manager's designee to execute Change Order No. 3 to Contract No. 2018-1378 with United Corporate Furnishings, Inc. for the City Hall Space Efficiency Project (C15000800), in an amount not to exceed $40,359, for a revised total contract amount not to exceed $124,773; 2) ratifying Change Orders No. 1 and No. 2 for this project issued under City Manager authority; and 3) resetting the City Manager's authority to issue change orders.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Public Works, Facilities and Real Property Management Division identified needed modifications and augmentation of existing modular furniture that will allow the relocation and consolidation of various staffing groups within City Hall, optimizing utilization of City Hall building space.

Policy Considerations: The recommendations in this report are in accordance with City Chapter 3.60.

Economic Impacts: Change Order No. 3 is expected to create .30 jobs (.19 direct jobs and 0.11 jobs through indirect and induced activities) and create $39,411 in total economic output ($25,264 of direct output and $14,147 of output in indirect and induced activities).

The indicated economic impacts are estimates calculated using a calculation tool developed by the Center for Strategic Economic Research (CSER).
