Issue Detail: Last year, the Budget and Audit Committee of the City Council requested that the Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment Department waive park permit fees for schools with adjacent parks so these parks can be used for school-related year-end events.
Any change to or waiving of fees and charges for the use of City facilities requires City Council approval. Staff is requesting that City Council approve the waiving the park permit fees for the Natomas Unified School District (NUSD) for the months of May and June 2019 for year-end events at Westlake Park, North Natomas Regional Park, Valley Oak Park, Burberry Park, and Kokomo Park. The Council approved the same fee waiver for NUSD's school-end events last year. The fee waiver will reduce the costs of these events for the participating students. The planned events and the amount of the fee waiver is detailed below:
