Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: As set forth in Section 2.84.130 of the City Code, the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC) recommends selection of artwork for the Art in Public Places (APP) program. Staff is recommending that City Council: 1) authorize the execution of an agreement with artist Jiayi Young for a not-to-exceed amount of $290,000 for the design, fabrication, installation, and purchase of artwork to be located within the Plaza between the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center at 1400 J Street in Sacramento, California; and 2) authorize the execution of an agreement with artist Atlas Labs, Inc., for a not-to-exceed amount of $290,000 for the design, fabrication, installation, and purchase of artwork to be located on the East Plaza of the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center at 1030 15th Street in Sacramento, Ca...
