Recommendation
Adopt a Resolution: 1) approving a salary increase for the City Auditor, City Clerk, and City Treasurer; 2) approving the City of Sacramento salary schedule; and 3) authorizing the City Manager or the City Manager's designee to make minor changes or adjustments to exhibits in order to correct omissions and errors.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The City Council evaluated the performance of three direct reports during duly noticed Closed Sessions on October 22, November 12, and November 19, 2019. As a result of the performance reviews, the City Auditor and City Treasurer will receive a 4.5% increase and the City Clerk will receive a 6% increase, on their respective anniversary dates in 2019.

These compensation adjustments require the salary range to be increased for the City Auditor.

The California Code of Regulations requires that the City Council adopt the City's salary schedules at a public meeting (2 CCR ? 570.5). This obligation arises whenever salary ranges are changed, to ensure that salary rates are transparent and publicly available. These publicly adopted rates are used by California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) to determine the appropriate compensation earnable for each City employee when calculating their pension benefit.
