Conduct a public hearing to consider all objections to the proposed removal of weeds, rubbish, and dirt and upon conclusion, adopt a Resolution authorizing the Community Development Department Director to abate the nuisances by having the weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt removed from the parcels of the property constituting a public nuisance.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Community Development Department prepared a list of parcels of land within the city of Sacramento that have not been maintained free of weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt in accordance with Government Code ?39561. On February 11, 2020, the City Council passed Resolution No. 2020-0051, declaring that certain specified parcels of property in the city have weeds, rubbish, refuse, and/or dirt which constitute public nuisances, and setting a public hearing to consider any objections to the proposed abatement of weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt. Property owners of parcels to be abated have been notified by mail of this public hearing. The comprehensive list of parcels was included in Exhibit A of Resolution No. 2020-0051. In accordance with Government Code ?39567 and ?39567.1, all property owners of affected parcels were mailed a notice on February 25, 2020, to inform them of the public hearing scheduled for March 24, 2020.
