Pass a Motion: 1) approving the use of a cooperative purchase contract between the Texas Government Purchasing Cooperative (BuyBoard) and Chastang Enterprises (Contract No. 601-19) for the purchase of 16 Autocar chassis from an authorized dealer, Western Truck Parts and Equipment, in an amount not to exceed $3,724,359; 2) approving the use of a cooperative purchase agreement between Sourcewell and Scranton Manufacturing Company, Inc. (Contract No. 091219-NWY) for the purchase of 16 New Way bodies from an authorized dealer, Ray Gaskin, in an amount not to exceed $2,815,955; and 3) authorizing the City Manager or the City Manager's designee to execute the purchases specified above.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Public Works, Fleet Management Division, has a customer requirement to purchase 16 replacement refuse trucks for the Department of Public Works, Recycling and Solid Waste Division. The truck bodies and chassis are being purchased separately. These trucks are used to pick-up and transport recycling materials and refuse to facilities for processing.

Policy Considerations: The recommendations in this report are in accordance with City Code Chapter 3.56 and Sacramento City Code Section 4.040.020 and Council Rules of Procedure, Chapter 7, Section E.2.d, which requires additional posting time for labor agreements and agreements greater than $1 million. This item was published for 10-Day review on June 19, 2020 as required.
