Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: City Code chapter 2.110 outlines the powers and duties of the Sacramento Community Police Review Commission (commission) including reviewing quarterly reports prepared by the office of public safety accountability (OPSA). The purpose of this item is to provide the commission with an opportunity to review OPSA’s quarterly report of complaints received or processed against SPD employees during the months of January through March 2020.
Policy Considerations: As required by City Code section 2.110.030.B., the commission shall review quarterly reports prepared by the office of public safety accountability consistent with California Penal Code section 832.7(c), relating to the number, kind, and status of all citizen complaints filed against police department personnel, to determine whether there are patterns of misconduct that necessitate revisions to any police policy, practice, or procedure.
