Recommendation

1) Discuss the current status of, expectations for, and ways to improve Commissioner timeliness to and attendance at all Commission meetings including regular, special, and ad hoc committee meetings; and 2) upon conclusion, provide recommendations to the Commission’s Rules of Procedures ad hoc committee for which expectations the committee should consider adding to the Commission’s draft Rules of Procedures.

Description/Analysis

 

Issue Detail: Several Commissioners requested an opportunity to discuss commissioner timeliness and attendance at Commission meetings including regular, special, and ad hoc committee meetings because they wish to improve commissioner participation and attendance.

 

Policy Considerations: Pursuant to City Code section 2.40.100, failure to attend three consecutive regular meetings, is good cause for removal under the provision of Section 232 of the Sacramento City Charter.

Rationale for Recommendation: This item provides the commission with an opportunity to discuss attendance expectations, as provided under article II of City Code chapter 2.40.
