Issue Detail: Under Sacramento City Charter section 172, the Commission must, at its first meeting, select from its members both a chairperson and a vice chairperson. The chairperson presides over Commission meetings; the vice chairperson assumes the chairperson’s duties and responsibilities when the chairperson is absent. It is recommended that the Commission select a chairperson and vice chairperson, with the members so selected to assume their duties at the next regular meeting.
