Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: The Aggie Square project is a significant project for the region, the City and the community. It will bring 1.2 million square feet of bio-medical innovation space, an estimated $1 billion in public and private investment, and an estimated 5,000 permanent jobs to the City. City staff along with UC Davis and Wexford Science and Technology have participated in and attended many community meetings to share information about the project and to discuss the benefits the project can bring to the community.
City staff have been working on the formation of commitments from UC Davis and Wexford that demonstrate how the City and neighborhoods surrounding Aggie Square can directly benefit from the project - commitments to construction and jobs, career pathways for local residents, support for local small businesses, access to community spaces at Aggie Square and EIFD funding for affordable housing.
