Recommendation
Pass a Motion authorizing the City Manager or the City Manager's designee to: 1) execute a Non-Professional Services Agreement with West Coast Arborists to provide Tree Pruning, Trimming and Related Services for an initial term of one-year with the option to extend for two additional years, for a total amount not-to-exceed $450,000; and 2) execute the one-year extensions, provided that sufficient funds are available for this purpose in the budget adopted for the applicable fiscal years.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Utilities (DOU) has an ongoing need for Tree Trimming, Pruning and Related services.

Policy Considerations: City Council approval is required for contracts of $100,000 or more.

Economic Impacts: None

Environmental Considerations: The Community Development Department, Environmental Services Manager has reviewed the project and determined that it is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Section 15301(h) of the CEQA Guidelines. The proposed activity is for a professional services agreement for maintenance services of existing landscaping, native growth and water supply reservoirs.

Rationale for Recommendation: On August 3, 2018, the Department of Utilities advertised a Request for Qualifications (RQP) for Tree Trimming, Pruning and Related Services.
