Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: On November 28, 2017, the City Council adopted a resolution (2017-0446) that called for a November municipal election for the purposes of electing City Councilmembers to Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7 if needed, as well as voting upon any measures. The Council also adopted resolutions that consolidated the elections with the statewide primary and general elections and requested authorization from the Board of Supervisors to allow the County Registrar of Voters to provide needed election services.

On July 31, 2018, the City Council adopted a resolution (2018-0318) that called for the placement of two measures on the November municipal election ballot: a measure pertaining to a transaction and use tax (Measure U) and the Sacramento City Charter Amendment and City Code Repeal Regarding the City Auditor (Measure K).

The November 6, 2018 election has occurred, the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters has certified the results, and the City Clerk has received the official Certificate of Facts. Adopting the resolution accepting the election results is the final action that completes the November 6, 2018 election process. Acc...
