Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment is seeking approval to award a contract to Saenz Landscape Construction, Co. for the Oak Park CPTED Improvements projects.

The Oak Park CPTED Improvements project (L19706034) consists of demolition, concrete flatwork, river cobble paving, electrical, benches, monument sign, fencing and landscape improvements.

Construction of the Oak Park CPTED Improvements projects is expected to be completed by end of February 2019.

Oak Park Community Center is a 8.10-acre community park located at 3425 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., in Council District 5.

Policy Considerations: City Code Chapter 3.60 provides that City Council approval is required to enter into construction agreements over $100,000.

Providing parks and recreation facilities is consistent with the City's general plan to enhance livability in Sacramento's neighborhoods by expanding park, recreation, and trail facilities throughout the City.
