Recommendation
Pass a Motion authorizing the City Manager or City Manager's designee to: 1) execute an Agreement with California Landscape Associates, Inc., to provide landscape maintenance services for a one-year term, with up to two successive one-year term renewals, for a total amount not-to-exceed $175,496; and 2) approve the one-year extensions, provided that sufficient funds are available for this purpose in the budget adopted for the applicable fiscal year(s).

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Utilities (DOU) operates two water treatment plants, the Sacramento River Water Treatment Plant (SRWTP) on the Sacramento River and the E.A. Fairbairn Water Treatment Plant (EAFWTP) on the American River. There is an ongoing need for landscape maintenance services throughout the grounds. DOU initiated a competitive bid process in order to award a contract for landscape maintenance services at the SRWTP. Staff recommends that City Council award California Landscape Associates, Inc., a one-year contract with two one-year renewal options, for an amount not to exceed $175,496 for the maximum three-year term.

Policy Considerations: City Council approval is required for contracts of $100,000 or more.
