Pass a Motion: 1) awarding a one-year non-professional services contract to Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Products in the amount of $121,960 for landscape irrigation supplies in city parks; 2) authorizing the City Manager or City Manager's designee to extend the contract for up to two additional years for a total amount not to exceed $384,478 for the potential three-year period; and 3) authorizing the City Manager or the City Manager's designee to execute the contract and extensions provided that sufficient funds are available in the budget adopted for the applicable fiscal year.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) is seeking approval to award a contract to Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Products to purchase a variety of irrigation supplies required to operate, repair, and maintain over 3,000 acres of city parks, dog parks, and sports fields. The bid amount is $121,960 for the first year with the option to extend for up to two additional years.

The formal bid process for the purchasing of irrigation supplies has been completed and Ewing Irrigation & Landscape Products was determined to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.

Policy Considerations: The recommendations in this report are in accordance with the provisions of the City Code Chapter 3.56 related to the procurement of non-professional services and supplies.
