Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment is seeking approval to award a contract to Sierra Valley Construction Inc. for the Barandas Park Phase 2 Project. Sierra Valley Construction Inc. was the low bidder and the contract amount is $353,356. The work will include clearing and grubbing, grading and drainage, concrete flatwork, concrete mow strips, concrete pads, aggregate base, decomposed granite paving, rule signage, chain link fencing and gates, drinking fountains, concrete benches, trash receptacles, automatic irrigation system, shade trees and a plant establishment period. Construction is expected to be completed by year end 2019.

Manuel Barandas Park is a 11.3-acre community park located at 2805 Grasslands Drive, in Council District 4.
