Pass a Motion authorizing the City Manager or City Manager's designee to execute supplemental agreements for the following grantees: 1) Always Knocking; 2) Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC); 3) City Year; 4) La Familia Counseling Center; 5) Mutual Assistance Network; 6) Reading Partners; 7) Rebranding You, Inc.; 8) Rose Family Creative Empowerment Center; 9) The HAWK Institute; and 10) The Regents of University of California, for the various amounts not to exceed $140,000 with the Office of Violence Prevention.

Issue Detail: As part of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016/2017 budget, $1.5 million was allocated to support the continued implementation of the Gang Prevention and Intervention Taskforce (Taskforce) projects. On February 21, 2018, the City released the Taskforce Grant Program Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to identify community based non-profit organizations qualified to provide youth and gang violence prevention and intervention services in four funding categories:
1. Life Skills
2. Workforce Readiness
3. Crisis Response
4. Student Enrichment
A multi-disciplinary team of content experts evaluated the proposals submitted against the published criteria and determined which were most responsive. On May 15, 2018, Council approved funding for 21 organizations and authorized the City Manager to execute one-year agreements with each organization.
