Issue Detail: In June 2019, the Department of Information Technology (IT) issued Request for Proposal (RFP) Bid No. EV00000030 for the procurement of Modular Video Surveillance Cameras. During the evaluation phase, staff believes that it is in the best interests of the City to expand the scope beyond video surveillance camera modular units and should include a more comprehensive approach to supporting video surveillance and closed-circuit camera systems throughout the City. For these reasons, staff is recommending that City Council reject all proposals, in the best interest of the City, so that a more complete RFP can be issued.
Policy Considerations: Per City Code 3.72.110, City Council action is required to reject bids received for a contract.
