Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The project will transform Franklin Boulevard between Sutterville Road/12th Avenue and the City/County limits near 38th Avenue into a "complete street" which serves all modes of transportation. Franklin Boulevard currently has four travel lanes, a center turn lane, and no bicycle lanes. The existing sidewalks have no landscaping or City street trees, and the pedestrian crossings of the street are long. This project will reduce the number of travel lanes to two, with a center turn lane, and install Class IV separated bikeways, trees and landscaping, pedestrian-scale lighting, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalk and curb ramps, and on-street parking where appropriate.
