Adopt a Resolution: 1) calling for a general municipal election to be held on November 3, 2020, for the purpose of electing officers as required by the laws of the State of California related to charter cities; and 2) rescinding Resolution No. 2020-0063 which submitted the "Sacramento Youth Enrichment Fund Act," a charter amendment measure, to be included in the general municipal election of November 3, 2020.

Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: The terms for incumbents in the office of the Mayor and City Council Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8 are scheduled to expire in December 2020. On November 5, 2019, and pursuant to established election procedures, the City Council adopted resolutions that called for a March municipal election to fill these expiring terms. The Council also adopted resolutions that consolidated the elections with the statewide primary and general elections and requested authorization from the Board of Supervisors to allow the County Registrar of Voters to provide needed election services.

The election has occurred, the Sacramento County Registrar of Voters has certified the results, and the City Clerk has received the official Certificate of Facts. As contained in the certification, the number of votes received by a single candidate in the office of the Mayor and City Council Districts 4 and 6 were sufficient to declare them elected.
