Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: The Sacramento Radio Communications Systems (SRRCS) provides public safety and local government communications radio systems for the greater Sacramento Region. This includes the City of Sacramento's (City) public safety agencies and all its emergency services. SRRC is operated by the County of Sacramento since 1995 and has provided the City with essential radio communications and connectivity services that supports the City's public safety and emergency service radio communication requirements.
The City is part of the SRRC that provides the radio infrastructure to operate the City's mobile radios used by local government, public safety, and first responders to communicate with surrounding cities and districts. The System is maintained by Sacramento County and is up for renewal. The proposed agreement will extend the City's radio services using the SRRCS with Sacramento County's Telecommunications Division for ten years. The entire System is a multi-agency regional radio network built with pooled frequencies from the City of Sacramento, County of Sacramento, Sacramento Sheriff's Department, and surrounding Fire districts.
