Description/Analysis

Issue Detail: On October 13, 2020, the City of Sacramento submitted a grant application to the State of California, Department of Water Resources (DWR) for the 3rd round Flood Maintenance Assistance Program (FMAP) FY2020/21 (Resolution No. 2020-0336). DWR reviewed the City of Sacramento's package and determined that the City's Local Maintaining Agency (LMA) is eligible for funding and has awarded the City a not-to-exceed amount of $550,200 for Funding Agreement No. 2021-FMAP-NA5-01.

A New Budget act of 2020 was established by the State of California and replaces the Budget Act of 2018. The Budget Act of 2020 requires a Local Maintaining Agency Authorizing Resolution, which is provided by this administrative action.

Policy Considerations: Council Resolution 2020-0123 requires City Council approval to apply for operating grants of more than $250,000.
