Description/Analysis
Issue Detail: The Housing Element is part of the City's General Plan and sets forth the policies and programs to address the housing needs of all households in Sacramento. It serves as the City's eight-year housing strategy and plans for the housing needs of all economic segments of the community through a comprehensive analysis of need, constraints, and resources as well as policies and programs to address those needs. City staff began the process of updating the Housing Element for the period 2021-2029 in April 2020 and released a Draft Housing Element for public review between January 25 and March 1 of 2021.
Staff is presenting a full draft plan for City Council consideration prior to review by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
